Kelimutu National Park was located in the Ende Regency, Province East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia . Kelimutu National Park was the amazing nature tour in Flores. Kelimutu National Park had mountainous topographic relief.

Like the mountainous nature tour in other area in Indonesia, like the Mount Tangkuban Perahu and Mount Bromo in Java Island, Kelimutu National Park had the special uniqueness, that is with the existence of three colored lakes that was in the peak of the Mount Kelimutu (1.690 meters dpl). The red lake was named Tiwu Ata Polo (the soul's lake of the tukang tenung /the person who carried out the crime), the white lake was named Tiwu Ata Mbupu (the soul's lake of the parents), and the blue lake was named Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai (the lake of the young's soul).

Tiwu Ata Mbupu lake and Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai lake its location was adjacent, whereas the Tiwu Ata Polo lake his location around 1,5 km on the west. The three lakes had the color of different water to one another. Apart from being caused by the activity of the Kelimutu volcano, the color change of water was from time to time caused by the existence of the refraction of the sunlight, resulting from the wall color reflection and the lake foundation and the micro existence of the water biota that lived in the lake. The peak of the Mount Kelimutu was the place that was most strategic to be able to see the three lakes.

Kelimutu National Park had high valuable biological diversity. In this National Park was gotten any plants kind, became the habitat of various mammalian kinds and the habitat around 19 birds kinds that were threatened extinct. In Kelimutu National Park also was gotten the source of hot water (Moni) and the waterfall that was interesting to be visited. Apart from its nature wealth, Kelimutu had the cultural wealth like traditional house; the traditional dance and diligence wove the bunch.

To reach Kelimutu National Park, tourists must arrive in Ende or Maumere first. Afterwards tourists headed the Koanara Village around 93 km from Ende (± 3 hours). From the Koanara Village, tourists could walk to the Kelimutu Lake.

Kelimutu also was the place that was good for person who liked hiking and enjoyed the tropical region of the mountainous village. In the morning was the best time for enjoys beauty of the Kelimutu Lake. During noon or in the afternoon, usually Kelimutu Lake scenery would covered by the thick fog. During July till September was the best time to visit Kelimutu.
