Borobudur TempleBorobudur was the name of a Buddhist Temple that was located in Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java. This temple was build by the followers of the religion Buddhist Mahayana around the 800 's Masehi in the government's period of the Syailendra Dynasty by the king who was named Samaratungga around 824 Masehi. But the Borobudur Temple could be just completed in the Samaratungga’s daughter's period that was named Queen Pramudawardhani. The development of the Borobudur Temple was estimated for semicentenially.
 
In 1991, Borobudur Temple was maintained as the World’s Inheritance by UNESCO. There are a lot of theory that explained about Borobudur Temple’s name. One of the explanations that came from the etymology of the Javanese Community that the Borobudur's name was came from words “bara” and "beduhur". Words of “bara” came from words “vihara” (the Buddhist house of group's religious duties) and “beduhur” meaning is “high”. So his intention was a monastery or the barracks that was located in the high land.

Borobudur Temple had the structure of punden berundak shape. Consisted of six levels that have lay alongside the cage shape, three levels have round coiled shape and a main stupa as his peak. Borobudur Temple was built without using cement, but used interlock system, that is the stones that had the shape of release beams that could adhere without glue. If was seen from above, the structure of Borobudur Temple had the shape of the arena. Borobudur Temple had ten levels. The ten levels depicted clearly philosophy Mazhab Mahayana. Moreover, ten levels of the Borobudur Temple depicted ten Bodhisattva Stages that must be passed through to achieve perfection to Buddha.

Karmawibhangga, in accordance with the symbolic meaning in foot the temple, this relief depicted the law of karma.

Lalitawistara, this relief depicted the story Buddha that was begun from the fall Buddha from Tusita Heaven, and ended with first advice in the Rusa Garden close to the Banaras City.

Every part of the Borobudur Temple symbolised something. The part foot Borobudur symbolised Kamadhatu, that is the world that still was controlled by kama or the "low desire". This stage symbolised upper nature, where humankind has been free from all the wishes and the association of the form, but did not yet achieve nirvana.

The highest stage that depicted the lack of the shape was demonstrated with the biggest and highest stupa. In this biggest stupa ever been found the Buddhistt Statue that was imperfect or also was mentioned Unfinished Buddha.

If from the Jogya City, tourists only needed time around 1 trip hour to the Borobudur Temple. To reach Borobudur Temple, tourists must arrive in the Magelang City first.
