The mosque was inaugurated on 31 December 2006 with the name of Masjid Dian Al Mahri. Date of inauguration coincides with Line Day 1427 Iduladha H. Its construction was carried out by professionals from abroad and a cost of billions of dollars.

Golden Dome Mosque was built by a businessman from Banten named Hj. Diane Djuriah Al Rashid. The wealthy businessman has bought land in Depok area since 1996 and started building since 2001. Development mosque was completed in late 2006 and opened to the public precisely at 31 December 2006.
