The history begins with the determination of the enactment of this LLNP three areas, namely:

(2) D. Forest Tourism Lindu based on the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture.: 46/Kpts/Um/1/78, dated January 25, 1978.
(3) Expansion to the North S. Sopu - S. Gumbasa with the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture.: 1012/Kpts/Um/12/1981, November 10, 1981. LLNP also been designated as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1977.

Geographically, the region TNLL is at 119 ° 58'-120 ° 16 'east and 1 ° 8'-1 ° 3' latitude with an altitude between 200-2610 meters above sea level (asl). The highest peak is Mount Nokilalaki (2355 m asl) and Mount Tokosa / Rorekatimbu (2610 meters above sea level). Rainfall in the region LLNP quite varied. In the northern part LLNP rainfall ranges from 855-1200 mm / year, in the eastern part of LLNP rainfall ranges from 344-1400 mm / year, and in the western part of LLNP rainfall ranges from 1200-2200 mm / year.
