In the Bengkulu Province had several places that became the Rafflesia Arnoldi habitat. One of them was located around 52 km next east the Bengkulu City that is in the Register Protected Forest region 5 Bukit Daun, Taba Penanjung, North Bengkulu, Bengkulu Province, Sumatra Island, Indonesia. This protected forest region was beside the Bengkulu Kepahiang City highway. Occasionally, the flower that was blossoming only be at a distance around 5—10 meters from this highway. So, tourists could see Rafflesia Arnoldi that was blossoming from the edge of this road.

Rafflesia Arnoldi was one of the rare crop kinds that only grew in the Sumatran region the southern part, especially in the Bengkulu Province. A Lieutenant from England the first time found this crop in Bengkulu during 1818, that at the time held the office of Bengkulu Governor, Thomas Stamford Raffles and Dr. Arnoldy, a botany expert.

By the Government of the Bengkulu Province, this flower was maintained as the symbol of the province. Because Refflesia Arnoldi was the rare crop, then since 2000 the Government of the Bengkulu Province appointed it as the crop that must be protected and conserved. Moreover, since 2001, several forest regions that became the Rafflesia Arnoldi habitat were maintained as the forest region that was protected.

The uniqueness from the crop that also often was acknowledged as this Rafflesia Arnoldi flower was the nonexistence of the root, the leaves, and the stem. This was caused by Rafflesia Arnoldi was parasite plants to the crop crept, and only live in its root of the foster-mother's crop. The most these flowers were five flower sheaths that surrounded the interior, that apparently like the mouth hole. In the foundation of the part that like hole, was gotten the stamen, depended on the gender, Rafflesia Arnoldi male or female. For the visitor who wanted to see the Rafflesia Arnoldi blossoming, it was suggested to use the personal car, or the rented car. From the Bengkulu City, the visitor could lease the car with the price around Rp 300.000,00 per day (December 2008). Around the Bukit Daun, Taba Penanjung, was gotten several sellers of the crop that sold ferns and the forest orchid. So, the visitor who came to see the Rafflesia Arnoldi flower could also come home and bring the work took the form of pretty crops.
